Mar 23Stellar Medicine – Saralyn Mark MD

Washington Design Consultants captured the magical quality of my new book, Stellar Medicine and they did it quickly and professionally. Peter Marks and his team including Justin Coles designed a cover that reflects the dynamic energy and spirit of this book. I have much admiration for their creativity and collaborative approach. I cannot wait to share this book with the public and part of the reason is because of the cover! I am so fortunate to have found this ‘stellar’ team–I hope that I will have more opportunities to work with Washington Design Consultants in the future.

Sep 29Arriva Trains Wales Marketing Campaign Crowned Best in Wales

CoC Awards 2010

Following a search to find the best marketing campaign in Wales, Arriva Trains Wales has been presented with the Excellence in Marketing Award by the South Wales Chamber of Commerce at their prestigious awards ceremony on Friday 24th September.

Competing against the likes of Gocompare.com and Donate Wales, the ëLove the Trainí campaign was created in-house by the Arriva Trains Wales marketing team with artwork by Washington Design based in Penarth. The campaign was praised for its attempt to grow passenger sales through effective communication with customers whilst delivering real accountability for marketing spend.

Vanessa Schotes, Head of Marketing at Arriva said: ìWe are thrilled to have been presented with this award. It is a testament to the teamís hard work and dedication to winning more and more people over to ëloving and traveling by trainí.

ìThe ëlove the trainí campaign highlighted the teamís methodical approach to marketing planning and dedication to clear and simple communications. Working within challenging budgets, the ATW marketing team has continuously delivered measurable results and impressive returns on marketing investment and ëlove the trainí is a key example of its successî, she further added.

Commenting on the development of the campaign, Mike Bagshaw Commercial Director explained that ëlove the trainí was ìunique in its attempt to win more people over to train travel. In a society where time is critical, increased numbers of both leisure passengers and commuters are finding that the train not only cuts their journey time but can also represent a substantial saving over the cost of driving as well as being a sustainable mode of transportî.

Sep 10Arriva Trains shortlisted for Marketing Award

Arriva Trains Wales has been short-listed in the Excellence in Marketing category of the forthcoming Chambers of Commerce Business Awards.
Developed in partnership with Penarth based agency Washington Design, Arriva Trains Walesí ìLove The Trainî campaign will be up against Donate Wales and Go Compare at the awards, which will be held at Cardiffís Holland House Hotel.

James Robinson, managing director of Zeffa, said: ìFrom the numerous entries for the Excellence in Marketing category itís clear that Wales has an abundance of businesses prepared to invest resources in understanding their customersí needs and wants and then doing something about it at a time when many businesses still insist on cutting their advertising spend.

ìAt Zeffa we put the client at the heart of everything we do and the businesses we have short-listed have demonstrated that they do exactly the same.

ìThis award celebrates those businesses that push the boundaries of a traditional marketing campaign to grow their business through effective communication with their customers and at the same time delivering real accountability for their spend by demonstrating the direct impact their campaigns have on the bottom line. Weíre proud to sponsor this award and believe the short-listed businesses should be proud of their achievements.î
